Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: As per the preliminary assessment severe cyclone Dana has caused damage to public and private properties worth around Rs 600 crore in Odisha, Revenue and Disaster Management minister Suresh Pujari said on Monday.
“Odisha has suffered around Rs 600 crore damage due to the Cyclone Dana. The final damage assessment report will come up in a day or two,” said Pujari speaing to media persons.
All concerned departments have submitted their damage assessment report and only Panchayati Raj department is yet to submit its damage report, the minister added.
The Central team would visit the state after getting the final damage assessment report.
Notably, Cyclone Dana hit the Odisha coast on October 25 triggering torrential rain, flash flood. High-speed wind upto 110 km per hour uprooted trees and electric poles causing severe damage to crop and infrastructure in 14 districts.
