Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan today informed that the proposed queue system for darshan at Puri Jagannath Temple will be implemented from January 20.
He stated that arrangements are underway to implement a queue system for devotees to ensure a smooth darshan experience at the 13th century shrine.
The queue system was initially scheduled to be introduced from the New Year but was deferred due to the heavy influx of pilgrims during that time.
Speaking on the repair work of Ratna Bhandar, he said that it will be completed before March following which an inventory of the ornaments belonging to the deities will be conducted. While the ASI had set a three-month deadline, efforts are being made to complete the repairs ahead of schedule, he said.
Harichandan further added that, "Once the repair work is completed, the process of counting the precious gems and ornaments is expected to begin after transferring the valuables from the temporary strong rooms to the Ratna Bhandar."
It is worth mentioning that the Ratna Bhandar repair work has been temporarily suspended to ensure smooth Makar Sankranti rituals and is set to resume on January 17.
