Ganjam, January 21: Ganjam scribes on Tuesday raised a mass protest over a poster that featured ‘No entry for journos to the Sanakhemundi Block office’.
The Press Club of Sanakhemundi moved the Collector office in this connection seeking stern action against the Block authorities.
According to the allegation of the journalists submitted before the Ganjam district Collector, a poster that read ‘No entry for Journalists to the Sanakhemundi Panchayat Samiti’ was found implanted at the office main gate.
Following this, the scribes’ forum expressed their discontent and raised protest against the BDO in order to ascertain the intent of the poster.
Meanwhile, the Journalists’ Association, Ganjam resolved to go for mass agitations in case their demands remain unaddressed.
Who has installed the poster and why, are yet to be ascertained. However, the local journos alleged that the restriction is an attempt to hide out rampant corruption taking place in the office, from public.
