Puri, Dec 11: Puri MP and BJP national spokesperson, Sambit Patra, has proposed a plan to the Railway Ministry for making the ‘Abadha’ from Srimandir available at major railway stations in Odisha.
In his address to Parliamen, Patra suggested that Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw engage in discussions with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and other relevant parties, including temple priests and the Puri Gajapati Maharaja, to explore the possibility of offering dry prasad at these stations.
The goal of this initiative is to provide a spiritual experience to train passengers traveling through Odisha. By setting up distribution points at stations, the revered prasad will be easily accessible to travelers, even if they don’t visit Puri itself. Currently, the Mahaprasad is only available at the Ananda Bazar in Puri, limiting access to those visiting the temple.
For these devotees, the opportunity to take home the holy prasad would fulfill their spiritual desire, further connecting them to the essence of Puri Jagannath Dham.
