Puri, July 18: Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb on Thursday joined the high-level panel which entered the Ratna Bhandar for inventory.
On being invited by the Ratna Bhandar Inventory Committee and the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) authorities, the prime servitor of Lord Jagannath reached the temple at about 10 am. He also heads the Stri Jagannath Temple Managing Committee.
Following this, he entered into the Ratna Bhandar to supervise the inventory of the belongings treasured in the secret chamber of the ancient treasure trove.
Sources said, the Gajapati will remain present during the accounting and documentation of the gems and jewels after they are safely shifted to the temporary locker, set at the Changada Ghar inside the Shri Jagannath Temple.
Worth mentioning, the Gajapati was absent on July 14 during the opening of the outer Ratna Bhandar.
