Bhubaneswar, April 2: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted rain and thundershowers in various parts of Odisha for the next three days, bringing much-needed relief from the ongoing heatwave in the state.
According to the regional weather office, light rain or thundershowers are expected at a few places across the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, and Nuapada. However, the rest of Odisha will continue to experience dry weather conditions.
A yellow warning has been issued, alerting residents about thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph at one or two locations within the affected districts.
For April 3, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated locations in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangapur, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Rayagada.
On April 4, similar weather conditions are forecasted for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri.
