Mumbai, Sep 7: Team India skipper Rohit Sharma signed off from the T20Is with the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. He was part of the India's maiden T20 World Cup triumph in 2007 as well.

Rohit is one of the leading performers in world cricket with the bat in all three formats. But in T20 format, he has hit the headlines more often and always enjoyed more success.

He not only has been part of Team India in their two T20 World Cup triumphs, but in Indian Premier League (IPL) too, he has been part of the champions team on six occasions.

On five occasions, he has lifted the IPL trophy as captain of Mumbai Indians (MI). But his first IPL title win was for the Deccan Chargers (Sunrisers Hyderabad now) in 2009. He was one of their key performers, who contributed both with the bat and ball.

Remembering his Deccan Chargers days, his former teammate and ex New Zealand player Scott Styris revealed that he realized Rohit was meant for something special as the two shared the dressing room during their stint with the Deccan Chargers.

During his association with Deccan Chargers, Rohit shocked everyone with his hat-trick against Mumbai Indians in 2009.

Rohit was 19-20 years then, when Styris first met him during their Deccan Chargers days. But Styris speaking to a section of press revealed that he could feel Rohit is meant to achieve great heights in career.

The former New Zealand great further stated that Rohit is still the same guy that he was 16 years ago.

But after the first three seasons, in 2011 auctions Rohit was roped in by Mumbai Indians where he managed to take the franchise right to the very top.

After leading India to win the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 title, Rohit quit T20Is. But he still leads India in the ODIs and Tests. Champions Trophy 2025 and World Test Championship trophy would be the two titles, he would be dreaming to win as the captain of India.
