Rourkela, Dec 22: As if a challenge to the Rourkela Police, a youth was reportedly shot at by a miscreant on Sunday amid a crowd of sportsmen and athletes during a marathon race.
The bizarre incident took place under the Sector-3 police station area of Rourkela in the morning where a youth fired gun shots aiming a youth participant all of a sudden.
The victim, identified as Salil Sahu, sustained critical injuries in the gunfire who was rushed to the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) for treatment.
On being informed, the Sector-3 police arrived at the spot and seized a bullet shell from the crime spot.
Investigation is underway. CCTV footages are under scanner. Checking & blocking has been intensified to nab the miscreant said police.
