Mumbai, April 5: The casting for Race 4 has not been finalized yet, with only Saif Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra currently being considered for roles in the film. On Saturday, producer Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films issued a statement to clarify the ongoing discussions.
“We would like to clarify that we are in talks with Saif Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra for the next installment of the Race franchise (Race 4), which is still in the scripting phase. No other male or female actors have been approached at this stage. We kindly request the media and social media platforms to refrain from spreading false information and to await an official confirmation from our PR team,” the statement said.
The Race franchise, known for its thrilling twists and high-octane drama, began with the release of the first film in 2008, directed by Abbas-Mastan. The movie starred Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Anil Kapoor, and Sameera Reddy in key roles. It was followed by Race 2, featuring John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, and Jacqueline Fernandez, and then Race 3, which saw Salman Khan in the lead.
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan is preparing for the release of his Netflix film Jewel Thief, which features an ensemble cast including Jaideep Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor, and Nikita Dutta. The teaser, released in February, hints at a plot involving Saif and Jaideep teaming up to steal the African Red Sun diamond. On the other hand, Sidharth Malhotra will soon share the screen with Janhvi Kapoor in Param Sundari, set for release in the coming months.
