Bhubaneswar: Bhaijaan has a massive fan base. He also has a ‘gender-balanced’ popularity profile thanks to her endearing role of 'Prem'.
Salman Khan is no just a superstar, he is, presently, a cultural icon having unparalleled popularity. The star has an indelible impact on rural masses. He still leads the star power box office index.
The big news to fore is Salman Khan has not charged any fee for his lead role in the upcoming magnum opus Sikandar.
As per reports, Sajid and Salman are two great friends. Salman Khan decided to not charge any fee initially, as the film has been a big budget movie. Made on a grand scale, the budget of Sikandar has been pegged at Rs 400cr.
WHY SALMAN KHAN DIDN’T CHARGE FEE?
Since Salman Khan charges 100cr per film, had he charged star fees for Sikandar, the budget would then have gone up to Rs 500cr.
In order to put a tab on the budget of the film, Salman Khan has decided not charge any star fee, initially.
Rather, the Star has entered into a profit sharing deal with Nadiadwala Grandsons Entertainment.
Salman Khan has the firm belief that his star power has the magnetism that will bring cinephiles to the theatres.
WHAT BIG RISK LIES?
The big risk lies here is as the film is made on a budget of Rs 400 cr, and if the film earns Rs 400cr at the Box Office, Salman Khan will not be getting a single rupee. Because, as per the deal reports, Salman Khan will take 40% share of the profit earned on Sikandar.
The profit of the movie is decided on the collections at the box office, digital rights and OTT rights sale.
As the film Sikandar has been declared as the most anticipated movie of the year 2025, and if the film joins 500 club, Salman would be getting around 40% of Rs 100 cr profit only.
SIKANDER HAS TO BE A ‘JAWAN’ HIT
For Salman to rake moolah with the profit sharing pact in Sikandar, the film has to do a business like Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. If and only if Sikandar’s net domestic collection touches 650cr in India and net Rs 100 cr abroad, then only Salman can reap rich harvests. And his career will have big take off.
