Bhubaneswar, Feb 15: A day after the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) lifted his expulsion order, veteran politician and six-time MLA, Suresh Kumar Routray, visited the state party headquarters in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

Overcome with emotion, Routray expressed his feelings, saying, "I have endured immense pain for the past nine months after being expelled from Congress. I have been with the party for over five decades. Congress is my temple, and the Nehru family is my God. I am truly happy to return home."

Routray was expelled during the 2024 general elections on charges of engaging in anti-party activities. His younger son, Manmoth Routray, had contested as a BJD candidate, and Suresh Kumar Routray was accused of supporting his son’s campaign while undermining the Congress candidate for the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat.
