Nuapada, Nov 4: Panic gripped among the villagers of Siliaribahara village in Odidha's Nuapada district after an elderly woman was reportedly dragged and killed by a tiger on Friday.
The deceased woman has been identified as Rameswari Majhi, former word-member of the village.
According to the information, the big cat dragged Majhi while she had gone to attend the nature call in the evening. While she did not return home for a long time, family members with the help of villagers started searching but did not find her anywhere.
However, on Saturday morning, locals spotted mutilated body of Rameswari and informed her family members. When they started screaming, the tiger ran away into the forest leaving the body behind.
Earlier, two kids and an elderly woman were also killed in tiger attack in the area.
Worth mentioning, on March 2023, an elderly woman who was identified as Sanamati Barik was also dragged and killed by a tiger.
