New Delhi, April 20: US Vice President JD Vance, accompanied by his wife Usha and their three children, will arrive in India on Monday for a four-day official visit. The family is expected to land at Delhi’s Palam Airbase at 10 AM and will be received by a senior Union minister.
The Vance family will stay at the ITC Maurya Sheraton in Delhi, joined by at least five Pentagon and State Department senior officials.
High-Level Talks and Cultural Stops in Delhi
Vice President Vance’s visit kicks off with key bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday evening. Discussions are expected to focus on trade, tariffs, and the broader trajectory of India-US relations, especially in light of recent developments under former President Donald Trump's administration. The high-level meeting will be followed by a dinner hosted by PM Modi for the Vance family and the accompanying US delegation.
During their Delhi stay, the Vance family will also visit the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple and a marketplace featuring traditional Indian handicrafts.
Jaipur and Agra on the Itinerary
On Monday night, the Vances will travel to Jaipur. On April 22, they are scheduled to visit key landmarks, including the UNESCO-listed Amer Fort (Amber Fort). Later that day, Vice President Vance is set to deliver an address at the Rajasthan International Centre, expected to draw diplomats, Indian officials, academics, and foreign policy experts.
On April 23, the Vance family heads to Agra to explore the iconic Taj Mahal and Shilpgram — an artisan village showcasing India’s rich handicraft heritage. That evening, they will return to Jaipur, where they are slated to stay at the opulent Rambagh Palace, a former royal residence.
