Bhubaneswar, Jan 30: At the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave 2025, PhotoSplMeDx Pvt. Ltd., a pioneering MedTech startup, unveiled two groundbreaking devices designed to detect cervical and oral cancers early.

The company, incubated at AIC-SOA Bhubaneswar and SIIC at IIT Kanpur, is on a mission to revolutionize the way we approach cancer diagnostics.

According to Subrata Mishra, CEO of PhotoSplMeDx Pvt. Ltd., their vision is clear: "Our goal is to create affordable, highly sensitive, and easy-to-use devices that offer rapid and strong diagnostics for everyone." This commitment to accessibility and precision is at the heart of their innovative approach.

The company's devices leverage smartphone technology to enhance early detection. The first device uses intrinsic fluorescence for diagnosing cervical cancer, while the second combines both imaging and spectroscopy for identifying oral cancer in its early stages.

Smartphones are central to both devices, acting as display units, image capture tools, and enabling real-time data processing for immediate results.

In collaboration with top medical institutions, including AIIMS Bhubaneswar, GSVM Medical College Kanpur, AHPG Institute of Cancer in Cuttack, and several other prestigious hospitals, PhotoSplMeDx is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in cancer detection.

The company has adopted a flexible business model with an installation and service fee of ₹15,000 per year, plus a pay-per-use screening cost of ₹100 per device. The cost of each device, currently in pre-manufacturing, is estimated at₹ 2,50,000.

With these advancements, PhotoSplMeDx is poised to make a significant impact on the fight against cancer, offering hope for early detection and better outcomes.
