Utkarsh Odisha Conclave: ₹7762 crore investment intents in apparel sector

Bhubaneswar, Jan 29: At the Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, the Handlooms, Textiles, and Handicrafts Department achieved significant milestones with securing whopping ₹7762 crore investment intents from 36 units with the potential to create around 88000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

As many as six Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with key industries like Shri Maa Textiles, Maa Banadurga Textiles Pvt. Ltd., Pratima Agro Spinning Mills, Tilottama Proprietors, Arundhati Bandhakala, Anubhav Knitwear, Cedra Filtration paving the way for future progress and development.

Noteworthy to mention that, on this occasion two MoUs were also exchanged between HT&H Department and Textiles Committee and SIDBI on post GI Initiatives, etc; HT&H Department/CSB-CTRTI/FECCD-OWO on Modal Eco-race Conservation in Sericulture sector.

The department hosted two impactful sessions, with key speakers, industrialists and government officials leading discussions focused on the themes "Odisha: The Emerging Destination for Textiles, Apparels and Handlooms" and “Sericulture and Technical Textiles – Odisha’s Tryst with Silks and Sectoral Utilities.”

These sessions aimed to highlight Odisha' potential as a hub for textile and apparel manufacturing, showcase the rich cultural heritage of handlooms and explore innovative approaches to sustainable sericulture.
