Bhubaneswar: Excitement around upcoming historical action drama Chhaava is building up. The film is slated for release on February 14.
Tuesday, the makers have dropped the first look of actress Rashmika Mandanna as Rani Yesubai. Chhaava features Vicky Kaushal in the titular role, donning the persona of Maratha king and warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
The film is based on a Marathi book Chhaava authored by Shivaji Sawant.
Sharing the poster on Instagram, the film’s production banner (Maddock Films) wrote:
“Behind every great king, there stands a queen of unmatched strength. Introducing @iamRashmika as Maharani Yesubai – the pride of Swarajya. #ChhaavaTrailer Out Tomorrow! Releasing in cinemas on 14th February 2025.”
This is the first time Rashmika and Vicky have been paired together on the screen.
Sambhaji Maharaj was son of the great Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This films portray his valour and expedition on the screen. Reports suggest that the film also bring into focus how the great warrior carried with him the strengths of four great natural elements – earth, fire, water and air that makes this universe.
The film has been directed by Laxman Utekar, and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. Popular music director AR Rahman has composed the music for the film.
BIG UPDATE ON CHHAAVA
When Shraddha Kapoor starred Stree 2 released, moviegoers had a surprise treat at the theatres as the makers have shown the massy teaser of Chhaava.
As per buzz doing around, the trailer of the upcoming Vicky Kaushal film has been attached with the prints of Sky Force. And the cine goers will have another treat of viewing the Chhaava trailer in the cinema houses.
It needs mentioning here that Sky Force and Chhaava are produced by Maddock films. The buzz, however, adds that Chhaava teaser will be released first online on Jan 22, but the makers will promote the trailer during Akshay Kumar Starred Sky Force screening in theatres.
As per reports, the makers have taken decision thinking that Chhava is a big scale film, Maddock films expect Sky Force will witness a huge turnout. So, promoting the historical action drama on big screen will do justice with the movie’s grandeur and mass appeal of Chhava.
The teaser and poster released by the Maddock Films present Vikcy Kaushal in a never seen avatar. The teaser has also claimed so. The teaser had received roaring response.
Chhava also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna and Divya Dutta. Directed by Laxman Utekar.

Even as makers of Sky Force firmly belief in huge turnout at theathres to watch the true thriller Sky Force, the popular rating agency IMDB's current most anticpated movie list ranks Sky Force at number 5 with 9% popualr vote. The current most anticipated movies list Chhaava at Number 6 with 8.6% popular votes. all eyes are now on Jan 24.
SKYFORCE RUN TIME ANNOUNCED
As per reports, the run time of Akshay Kumar starred Sky Force has a run time of 125 minutes or 2 hours and 5 minutes.
The Akshay starred movie will mark debut of Veer Pahariya. The film is directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur.
The makers believe that the film will pay a powerful tribute to an unsung hero whose courage and sacrifice deserves recognition, as they brought a true story of bravery to life on the big screen.
