Bhubaneswar: Forty-eight hours gone by. The murderous attacker of star actor Saif Ali Khan still eludes mighty Mumbai police dragnet.
This is so when reports indicate that image of the suspect has been distributed among the entire force, which comprises more than 40,000 active and retired officers.
Moreover, the same image as captured by fire exit CCTV of his residence Satguru Sharan complex have also been distributed to numerous taxi and auto associations.
Despite the heightened publicity, Police hands are still empty.
WHY EMPTY?
As per police reports, the Mumbai police suspect that the attacker might have been left mubai to some other destination.
Because, attacker seen leaving the complex at around 2:33 am. The actor was taken to hospital at around 3:00 am. Two teams of Bandra police reached the spot and Lilavati Hospital at around 4 am; whereas Mumbai Crime Branch was alerted at around 6 am.
The time line shows the attacker had got a time lifeline of around one and half hour to escape from the Mumbai city.
WHAT ANOTHER CCTV SHOWS?
During the CCTV footages examination of Bandra, reports suggest Mumbai Police found him with a changed dress after leaving the actor's building.
The police reports suggest that while leaving the Satguru Sharan, the accused was seen sporting a black T-shirt, where in the CCTV at Lucky Junction spotted the accused wearing a half-sleeve light blue shirt.
The distance between Saif Ali Khan’s residence and Lucky Junction is estimated to be around 1.5-2km. The proximity of the Junction CCTV shows, the accused has changed his outfit soon after leaving Saif’s house.
Since Bandra Police is yet to find out the accused in any other CCTV footage, and as the Lucky Junction’s proximity lies to Bandra station, it seems the attacker has left Mumbai.
ATTACKER IS PROFFESSIONAL CRIMINAL
Mumbai police is of the opinion that the attacker of Saif Ali Khan is a professional criminal. The reason is he had changed his outfits just after leaving Saif’s house. He did so evade identification, police told news reporters.
CHATTISGARH RPF ARREST ONE SUSPECT
As per recent reports, the Railway Protection Force have arrested one suspect named Akash Kailash Kanojia (31) at Durg Railway station in Chhattisgarh.
They arrested the suspect accused from Jnaneshwari Express, which was travelling from Mumbai Lokmaniya Terminal to Howrah.
News report suggests that Mumbai police have alerted the RPF the possibility of the presence of accused in the Howrah bound train. Mumai police have alerted so after tracking his mobile phone. The RPF team arrested the suspect from a general compartment after tallying with the image Mumbai Police had sent to them.
Speaking to reporters, IG RPF SECR Zone Bilaspur, M Khursheed said:
“A suspect Aakash Kanojia has been detained form Durg. The suspect was detained based on the information received from Asst Police inspector, Juhu PS, Mumbai. The Info stated that a suspect is travelling in Jnaneshwari express and he also shared the photo of the suspect. RPF arrested after tallying the photograph. Mumabi police had been informed via video call. They will soon come to Raipur."
