Bengaluru, Dec 15: Bengaluru police have arrested three individuals, including the estranged wife of Atul Subhash, a senior tech executive who died by suicide recently.
Nikita Singhania was arrested in Gurugram, while her mother Nisha Singhania and brother Anuragh Singhania were apprehended in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
The arrests were made on Saturday morning. The individuals were brought to Bengaluru and subsequently remanded to judicial custody for 14 days after appearing before a local court.
Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara confirmed the arrests, stating that Subhash's wife, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law were in judicial custody. He emphasized that the investigation into the matter would proceed.
Subhash, 34, was discovered deceased at his residence in Munnekolalu, Southeast Bengaluru, on December 9. He left behind extensive video recordings and notes, wherein he accused his wife and in-laws of driving him to suicide through "false" legal accusations and "persistent harassment."
Marathahalli police have registered a case of abetment to suicide based on these findings and subsequently arrested Nikita and the two other individuals.
