Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: The government will adopt zero tolerance policy in view of corruption said Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday.
Gracing the Vigilance Awareness Week inaugural ceremony in the Lok Seva Bhawan, Majhi said that corruption is one of the major obstacles before development.
The state government will take severest action against the corrupt officers, if found guilty or caught red- handed.
Underlining the rampant corruption going on during the previous government Majhi said, 5T was a platform for the corrupt officers to squander public funds in their own ways. However he said the BJP government will initiate stern action against them.
CM Majhi further said, Odisha Vigilance Department became more violent against corruption and corrupt officials during the present government.According to the crusade against corruption yet. as many as six Chief Engineers, a joint Commissioner of Excise Department, an Assistant Commissioner of CT&GST, a Chief Accounts Officer of OSRTC, a Deputy Director of Fisheries department, a Chief Civil Supplies Officer, two Tehsildars, two BDOs, one Forest Range Officer, a Jail Superintendent, a Doctor and seven Police officers have been arrested on DA, bribery and government fund embezzlement charges.
Narendra Modi raised his voice against corruption before 2014 election. And after assuming office of the Prime Minister, his fight against corruption is on. No matter how much powerful a corrupted official is, he will not be spared at all, CM Majhi added.
