New Delhi, April 28: Four eminent Odias received Padma Shri awards from the President on Monday.
They were honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri awards by President Droupadi Murmu during the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I at the Ganatantra Mandap of Rashtrapati Bhawan this evening.
The proud Odia recipients include Adwaita Charan Gadanayak, a renowned sculptor from Dhenkanal, recognized for his contributions to art; Prof. Doctor Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, former Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, honored for his exemplary work in medicine; Durga Charan Ranbir, celebrated for his achievements in art; and Pratibha Satpathy, acknowledged for her contributions to literature and education.
The ceremony also performed the conferment of 4 Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan, and 57 Padma Shri awards for 2025.
The event was attended by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, several Union Ministers, and other dignitaries.
