Raipur, Jan 12: The Adani Group will invest a total of Rs 75,000 crore in Chhattisgarh across various sectors, including power, cement, education, healthcare, skill development, and tourism, according to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani held a meeting, and the CMO shared photos from the event on Sunday.
In a post on X, the CMO highlighted that Gautam Adani announced an investment of Rs 60,000 crore aimed at expanding the group’s power plants in Raipur, Korba, and Raigarh. This expansion is expected to increase Chhattisgarh’s power generation capacity by 6,120 MW.
Additionally, the Adani Group has committed Rs 5,000 crore for the development and expansion of its cement plants in the state. Furthermore, the group plans to invest Rs 10,000 crore over the next four years in initiatives related to education, healthcare, skill development, and tourism through the Adani Foundation’s CSR efforts.
The meeting also discussed potential collaborations in manufacturing defense-related equipment, as well as establishing data centers and a Global Capability Centre in Chhattisgarh.
This substantial investment is expected to significantly boost the state's economy, create jobs, and contribute to its overall development.
