Bhubaneswar: A fun-filled and bone tickling flick Son of Sardar starring Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt was released way back in 2012. The hilarious show saw footfalls of over 1.23cr with net collection of Rs 88cr over a budget of Rs 67 cr.
In the year, it had a high-voltage clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Despite the clash, Son Of Sardaar managed to shine on its own and turned out to be a successful affair at the Indian box office. The Film turned out a hit and movie goers liked the comedy performances of Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt.
In 2015, the makers have announced to make a sequel of the 2012 hit. The film titled as Son of Sardar 2.
But the twist here has been that this sequel will not be like the original - a comedy thriller. Rather, the sequel will be based on a real life story that has an important reference to Indo-British history.
As per the buzz, the ambitious magnum-opus is being touted to be on the lines of Hollywood historical action thrillers for which the maker has chosen a tale which resounds of grandeur in its unparalleled tryst in history.
The buzz about the story has been that Sons Of Sardaar 2 is based on the historic Battle of Saragarhi which was fought before the Tirah Campaign on September 12, 1897.
The film shooting was on full swing in the year 2024. But it has had generated a lot of controversies. The film was shot at locations in Scotland and UK.
SON OF SARDAR 2 CONTROVERSIES
- Sanjay Dutt was part of the Son of Sardar2 but he couldn't join the team for shooting
- RESAON: his UK visa application was rejected recently due to his imprisonment in 1993.
- Sonakshi Sinha was replaced by actress Mrunal Thakur.
- Actor Vijay Raaz was removed from the project shortly after filming in the UK. Producers accused the veteran actor of ‘rude behavior’ and ‘never-ending demands,’ as the reason behind ouster.
- But Actor Vijay Raaj said, “I was shown the door simply because I didn’t greet Ajay devgn on the sets.”
BUZZ ON SON OF SARDAR 2 RELEASE DATE
The recent buzz doing around has been that Son of Sardar 2 might release on Diwali 2025. Although there is no such confirmation yet but being a mass action comedy, and Ajay Devgn has a love for Diwali release, the superstars’ fans are super excited at such prospects.
