Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani are set to attend the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, 2025. The Ambanis, known for their business acumen, will be rubbing shoulders with some of the most influential figures in the US.
The Ambanis will arrive in Washington on January 18 and will be given a prominent spot at the inauguration ceremony. They will be seated on the platform with other notable guests, including Trump's Cabinet nominees and elected officials. The inaugural events will kick off on Saturday with a reception and fireworks display at the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia. This will be followed by a Cabinet reception and a Vice President's dinner, which the Ambanis will also attend.
The night before the inauguration, Nita and Mukesh Ambani will attend a "candlelight dinner" with President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance. This intimate experience is one of the most sought-after events of the inauguration festivities.
There has been speculation about whether Mukesh Ambani paid for the privilege of attending these events. Trump's inaugural committee has turned the event into a giant fundraiser, where donors can buy their way in to spend private time with the President-elect and his wife, Melania Trump. It is unclear whether the Ambanis paid for their tickets or received a formal invitation from Trump.
According to a flier titled 'Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee Benefits', donors who have donated $1 million or raised $2 million for the Trump-Vance campaign will have a chance to rub shoulders with the most powerful couple in the world at a special event on January 19, 2024. This event is being touted as the 'summit' of the inaugural ceremony festivities. Elite donors will also receive six tickets to Trump's inauguration ceremony on January 20. The flier also confirmed that First Lady Melania Trump will be a part of the inaugural ceremonies.
Inauguration Day will feature a number of high-profile attendees, and the Ambanis will be among the most notable names on the guest list. Other notable attendees include Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg. Several other tech moguls from around the world, including French billionaire and tech entrepreneur Xavier Niel and his wife, will also be in attendance.
The Ambanis are also expected to attend a black-tie reception on Monday, co-hosted by Mark Zuckerberg and Republican mega-donor Miriam Adelson, to celebrate the inauguration. The QUAD foreign ministers, including India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, will also attend the inauguration. Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya has also confirmed his plans to be there.
