Mumbai, April 15: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently shared a candid thought in his blog, calling internet searches one of the “most worthless activities” of the day. The legendary actor explained that it’s not the search itself, but the distractions that come with it, that make it so counterproductive.

“One of the most worthless activities during the day is to search an issue on the net,” he wrote, adding, “The moment you zero in on what you want to find, you get unnecessarily drawn to a flood of other things. And by the time you remember what you came for, you’ve completely forgotten the original purpose!”

Big B also mentioned how this distraction recently affected him while browsing social media. “I went to X and Facebook to check the comments, but got so engrossed in what everyone else was saying that when I returned to this page, I couldn’t recall the topic I had come to write about. There’s just too much, too soon, too fast.”

In a more nostalgic turn, the iconic actor also touched on the fading art of handwriting. “The age of handwriting has been overtaken by the taps and punches on digital devices. Today’s younger generation submits their work digitally—no one writes anymore,” he noted.

However, amidst the digital takeover, he shared a touching gesture from his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan. “In his generosity, Abhishek gifted me a pen, acknowledging that his father still prefers to write by hand with ink, often enough,” Bachchan wrote.

What made the gift even more special was a unique detail Abhishek discovered: “Did you know the nibs of pens are actually designed separately for left-handed and right-handed people?” he shared, clearly touched by the thoughtful insight behind the gift.
