ASHA worker kidnapped, gang-raped in Odisha’s Paradip

Paradip, Aug 27: An Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) worker was allegedly kidnapped and gang raped by four youths near Nehru Bangla in Paradip on Friday evening. On the basis of the complaint lodged by the survivor at Paradip Adarsh police station, the police have detained three accused and are interrogating them. Sources said that the ASHA worker was going somewhere on some work on her bicycle when she was intercepted by four youths in a car near the Empires Hotel in Paradip town. Meanwhile, the miscreants allegedly kidnapped her and gang raped her in the Nehru Bungalow. The surviving woman briefed her ordeal to her family following which her father and the victim lodged an FIR at the Paradip police station.
