Bhubaneswar, April 19:The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) lost the 2024 election as it failed to counter BJP’s false narrative, said Naveen Patnaik on Saturday.
Taking up as BJD President for the 9th time consecutively, following the commission of the party, Naveen expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Odisha for their continued support and reiterated his unwavering commitment to the state’s development and people’s welfare.
Underlining the BJD’s thumping victory in the past elections, Naveen said, “The people of Odisha blessed us abundant opportunities to serve them. It’s a reflection of their trust in our positive governance.”
He attributed the party’s consistent success to the BJD’s democratic governance and strong organizational structure along with sincere and co-ordinated efforts of the grassroot leaders.
Naveen also said, “No one should underestimate the organizational capabilities of the BJD.Our strength lies in our disciplined and dedicated workforce.”
Referring to the party’s grassroots bond with the people, Patnaik stated, “Our workers are our real assets.Whether we’re in power or not, the BJD will always remain committed to public service.”
He also asserted that the party's mission goes beyond electoral politics and remains deeply rooted in the larger interest of the soil and its people.
“The BJD will always stand united for keeping up Odisha’s pride and interests. Our journey is not limited to forming government but extends to safeguarding the self-respect and aspirations of the people, he added.
As an impetus to the leaders and party activists, Naveen assured that the BJD is working to strengthen its communication, especially utilising social media platforms, to directly stay connected with people and raise voice against the decisions, away from public interest and community development.
