Bhubaneswar, Apr 11: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to announce another list of candidates for the forthcoming Odisha Assembly Elections 2024 today.
According to Vijayapal Singh Tomar, the BJP’s election overseer for Odisha, the party is expected to disclose the names of 20-22 additional candidates for the 35 Assembly constituency seats today, with the remaining candidates slated for announcement before April 20.

Tomar, presently visiting Odisha, commenced his agenda in Rourkela today, presiding over a meeting with the party president of Sundargarh and all district officials to deliberate on candidate selection and election strategy.

"We anticipate convening meetings with the district presidents and all party officials in Sundargarh today, with the aim of announcing the names of approximately 20 to 22 party candidates for various Assembly seats. The remaining candidates will follow suit before April 20," said Tomar.
Jual Oram, BJP’s Lok Sabha contender for Sundargarh, indicated, "The announcement of the candidate for the Rourkela seat is expected either this evening or by tomorrow following the meeting."
Previously, the BJP had unveiled its initial list comprising 112 candidates during the first week of April.
Odisha is slated to conduct elections for its 147-member Assembly with the 21 Lok Sabha seats, concurrently, in four phases, commencing on May 13.
