Bhubaneswar, Jan 9: Brijendra Pratap Singh on Wednesday assumed charge as the new Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) at its Corporate Office in Bhubaneswar.
Singh served as the Director-In-Charge of Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plants and was also a member of the SAIL Board before joining NALCO.
It is worth mentioning that Singh graduated in Mining Machinery Engineering from IIT Dhanbad in 1989 and also holds an MBA in Marketing.
He began his career at Bhilai Steel Plant’s Iron Ore Mine the same year and has since held various frontline and leadership roles at SAIL’s integrated steel plants, including Bhilai (BSP), Bokaro (BSL), Durgapur (DSP), and Burnpur (ISP).
He has over 35 years of experience in the mining and steel industries. He played a key role in driving SAIL’s modernization initiatives, contributing to the growth and sustainability of India’s steel sector in alignment with the National Steel Policy.
He has expertise in critical areas such as mining, Blast Furnace operations, Sinter Plants, maintenance, and overall plant operations.
