Sunil Vats, the SHO of Kotwali Police Station, reported that the incident occurred when residents from Ambala Cantt arrived at the court to give their statements. Vats suggested that the shooting might be linked to a possible rivalry between the victim and the accused.
"The victims, residents of Ambala Cantt, were at the court to provide their statements when a person in a car opened fire on them. There may have been a conflict between the victim and the accused," SHO Vats said.
The investigation is ongoing, with the Crime Branch now leading the probe into the matter. "The Crime Branch is handling further investigations," informed the SHO.
