Paradip, March 20: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the administrative offices of Paradip Port Authority (PPA) in Paradip town in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Thursday.
Acting on specific inputs, the CBI sleuths conducted a violent search operation in the chamber of Gangadhar Sethi, Executive Engineer of PPA’s Road & Building division.
According to reports, an eight-member team carried out the operation at the PPA’s administrative building.The investigating agency searched for documents relating to alleged fraud of around Rs 65 Crore that was allocated for developmental project including the Smart Industrial Port City initiative and proposed township.
Earlier complaints by the port authorities with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) had indicated towards a grand-scale kickback.
No statements are yet received from the port authorities or the CBI authorities as well, in this regard.
