Keonjhar, Ap 9: Thousands of devotees thronged Ghatagaon Maa Tarini temple, one of the prominent Shakti shrines in the state on Chaiti parba. The temple drew worshippers seeking the blessings of the deity.
This festival has been celebrated with grandeur since 1936 in honor of Maa Tarini, one of the most revered deities in the region.
It will continue till April 15 and devotees will have the opportunity to seek blessings and witness the deity's darshan in the newly adorned temple. The evening rituals began at around 4:30 pm today with the priests performing various traditional rituals, including Maa Tarini’s majana, mahasnana Fand bada singhara, the sodasha upachara, and other customary rituals. After these procedures, the Goddess was adorned in her golden attire for her darshan.
The temple doors were then opened to allow the devotees to visit. A huge crowd of devotees gathered early this morning to catch a glimpse of Maa Tarini’s golden attire, a tradition that continues to attract people from all over the state.
To manage the large influx of visitors, the temple administration has set up extensive arrangements to facilitate smooth darshan.
