Bhubaneswar, April 19: The Odisha government is set to establish an additional battalion of the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), informed an official on Saturday.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a proposal for establishing the battalion.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), 1,040 new posts across various ranks have been sanctioned for the new battalion.
Currently, the OISF operates with a single battalion comprising 1,807 personnel. With the addition of the new unit, the total strength of the force will rise to 2,847.
"The state government is prioritizing the growth of Odisha’s industrial sector. To ensure adequate security for industrial and commercial establishments, the Chief Minister has approved the creation of this second OISF battalion," the CMO added.
