New Delhi, April 27: The Indian Navy recently conducted a series of successful anti-ship missile firings in the Arabian Sea, reaffirming its operational readiness and combat capabilities.
According to an official statement shared on social media platform X by the Navy’s spokesperson, the exercises were aimed at validating the Navy’s ability to execute long-range precision offensive strikes.
“These missile firings were conducted to revalidate and demonstrate the readiness of platforms, systems, and crew,” the post read. “The Indian Navy stands combat ready, credible, and future-ready to safeguard the nation’s maritime interests — anytime, anywhere, anyhow.”
The drills underscored the Navy’s preparedness to respond to emerging threats and its commitment to securing India's maritime domain.
The exercise comes against the backdrop of rising tensions in the region, following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians. The attack has heightened security concerns, especially regarding cross-border threats.
Earlier this month, the Indian Navy also announced the successful test-firing of the Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MR-SAM) air defence system by its warship INS Surat in the Arabian Sea, further showcasing India’s advancing naval capabilities.
