Bhubaneswar: Odisha men's team defeated Assam by 45-0 in the pre-quarterfinal match of the Senior National Rugby 7s Championship at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday. In the quarterfinal match on Monday, Odisha will face Haryana.
In the league round matches, Odisha edged out Manipur & Uttar Pradesh by 39-0 & 62-0. Odisha placed in pool-C alongside Manipur and Uttar Pradesh and emerged Pool topper by winning both the league round matches and entered the pre-quarterfinals.
Altogether 26 teams from across the country divided in 9 groups to play the league round matches.
