Bhubaneswar, Dec 28: As 2024 comes to an end, the Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure a peaceful and secure New Year’s celebration.
The police are focused on maintaining law and order while prioritising the safety of citizens during the festivities.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pinak Mishra stated that strict actions will be taken against anyone found driving under the influence of alcohol.
“We urge citizens to celebrate responsibly and refrain from drinking and driving. Indiscipline and unruly behaviour will not be tolerated,” Mishra added.
To enhance security, the police have introduced several measures, including city-wide CCTV surveillance, intensified raids on illegal liquor outlets, and rigorous checks at hotels and clubs. Coordination among all police stations has also been prioritised to ensure smooth operations and effective law enforcement.
Celebration parties in public places will require prior licensing, according to DCP Mishra. However, private gatherings will not need such permits. The police will also monitor the sale of illicit liquor and take stringent action against those involved in its trade.
These measures aim to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the public. With meticulous planning and vigilance, the Commissionerate Police is confident of maintaining peace and order throughout the New Year celebrations.
