Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: With the landfall of severe cyclonic storm Dana is underway, the coastal districs of Odisha have received heavy rainfall.
Chandabali in the Bhadrak district has received the highest rainfall of 131.6 mm so far, reported the IMD on Friday.
Balasore has recorded 42.8 mm of rainfall during the process of the Cyclone Dana over the Bay of Bengal, informed Regional Director, IMD Odisha chapter, Manorama Mohanty.
Worth mentioning, the Cyclone Dana crossed the north Odisha coast close to Habalikhati nature camp (Bhitarkanika) and Dhamara during 0130-0330 hrs IST today as a severe cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 100-110 kmph gusting to 120 kmph.
Landfall process still continues and the rear sector of the cyclone is gradually entering into land so far.The landfall process would continue for at least one and half hour, said the IMD, Regional Center Bhubaneswar.
