Bhubaneswar, Nov 6: Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Southern Range Roopa Roshan Sahoo on Wednesday initiated a probe into the death of two tribal men after consuming food prepared from mango kernel.
Sahoo visited the Mandipanka village near the Daringbadi in the morning and met the affected families. Later, she enquired of the food securities of the affected families and took stock of the incident.
Following a study in the ground zero, the RDC inspeced the Multipurpose Co-operative Society in Daringbadi and reviewed the rice stock in it, said souces.
Interacting with the reporters, Sahoo said that she will revisit the spot and submit the report to the government on the incident.
In response to an outcry from the opposition, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had ordered a high-level enquiry into the recent deaths of two tribal villagers in Kandhamal district, who reportedly succumbed to food poisoning after consuming gruel prepared from mango kernel.
