Bhubaneswar, May 15: With total assets worth over Rs 313.53 crore, BJP’s Rourkela candidate Dilip Ray is the richest among the 265 nominees for 35 Assembly constituencies of Odisha going to poll in the second phase on May 20.
BJD’s Balangir nominee Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo is the second richest having assets of over Rs 73.66 crore.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is contesting from Hinjili and Kantabanji seats, is the third richest candidate with assets worth over Rs 71 crore.
The report of Odisha Election Watch and Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) released on Monday also revealed that 95 candidates of 35 Assembly constituencies of Odisha going to poll in the second phase are crorepatis. As many as 23 candidates have assets over Rs 5 crore.
Maximum 30 candidates from BJD, 24 from BJP and 24 from Congress have declared assets valued at more than Rs 1 crore.
Independent candidate from Boudh Pradip Sahu is the poorest with assets of only Rs 7,000, the ADR report said.
BJD’s Jharsuguda candidate Dipali Das, the daughter of late health minister Naba Das, has highest liabilities of Rs 19.39 crore.
