Bhubaneswar, February 6: Excise department officials intercepted a pickup van and an accompanying car near Aska in Ganjam district on Thursday, recovering 70 kg of ganja. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the seizure.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Santosh Palai, Titu Palai, and Sunil Swain, all residents of Nabaratnapur in Aska, and Ashok Sahu from Polasara. Additionally, officials confiscated six mobile phones from their possession.

According to sources in the excise department, the ganja was sourced from the Daringibadi area in the neighboring Kandhamal district. The illicit cargo was reportedly intended to be transported to Mumbai, either by train or car, via Purushottampur.
