Bhubaneswar, Aug 26: The famous Machkund hydroelectric project is situated in Andhra Pradesh. This has been mentioned in the Geography And Economics textbook of Class X students published by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. There is a list of major hydro-electric projects of India on page no 69 of the book where the Machkund hydro-electric project has been mentioned at the top as a hydroelectric project of Andhra Pradesh while it is situated in the Koraput district of Odisha. Hirakud, Balimela, Indrabati, and Rengali have been mentioned as hydroelectric projects of Odisha in the 17th row of the list. However, Koraput's Machkund hydroelectric project is missing from the list. Such type of mistake has irked the teachers, guardians, and some social outfits. Being asked about it, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said this mistake has taken place during the printing of the book and this has been informed to the schools to teach students correcting the mistake.
