Mumbai, April 27: A major fire erupted early Sunday at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Mumbai’s Kaiser-I-Hind building at Ballard Estate.

No casualties were reported, but crucial government documents, furniture, and computers were destroyed, officials confirmed. The blaze, reported around 2:30 am, was classified as a level 3 emergency by 4:21 am, making firefighting efforts difficult due to heavy smoke and the large affected area.

In a separate incident, a massive fire also broke out at a plywood factory in Bhiwandi’s Mani Surat Complex early Saturday, burning for over 24 hours and causing extensive damage. Firefighting operations are still ongoing with no injuries reported.
