Angul, February 7: A silo conveyer in Talcher coal mine was gutted after a major fire mishap took place in the system on Thursday.
Coal translocation to the loading point was reportedly affected due to the partial damage of the conveyer belt with some of its essential components.
According to report, a fire broke out in the coal bearing silo system last evening in one of the coal projects of MCL.As a result, at least 20 feet of the conveyer belt was almost damaged in the blaze.
On being informed, fire service teams of the MCL immediately responded and doused the flames.
Though the very cause behind the fire mishap is yet to be ascertained, electrical short circuit might be the reason, expect some technicians.
Comment of the authorized person on the cause of fire and the damage incurred due to it, is yet awaited.
