<strong>Forest guard shot fired in Similipal wildlife sanctuary</strong>

Baripada, April 22: A forest guard has sustained critical injuries after the poachers shot fired at him in Mayurbhanj. The incident took place at Bhanjabasa village under the Dulura wildlife range in Similipal sanctuary on Friday. Sources said a gang of wildlife poachers had trespassed into the Dukura forest. On specific tip-off a contingent of forest guards engaged under the flagship of Sabuja Bahini ventured into the core forest.  Meanwhile,  the poachers fired shots at the forest officials. As a result, Suna Ram Singh became critical. Singh was soon rushed to the Udala hospital for resuscitation. Investigation is underway to apprehend the poachers, said a  forest Range Official.
