Prayagraj (UP), January 30: The Uttar Pradesh government has on Thursday announced that VIP protocols will be suspended during key bathing festivals like ‘Amrit Snan’ and other major rituals at the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. This decision is aimed at ensuring an equal and smooth experience for all pilgrims.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the state government made it clear that VIP and VVIP delegations visiting during Vasant Panchami, Magh Purnima, and Mahashivratri – as well as the days surrounding these festivals – will not receive any special privileges.
“In line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, no VIP privileges will be allowed during these important bathing days or the days leading up to or following them,” the statement said. The decision, which was communicated ahead of the fair’s start, is now being strictly enforced.
The government had previously issued a circular at the beginning of Maha Kumbh 2025 that prohibits VIP movement on the day of Amrit Snan and other major bathing days, including the surrounding days.
