Baripada, Jan 15: The Similipal South Wildlife Division, along with the State-Level Joint Task Force (JTF), arrested four poachers involved in illegal hunting activities in Similipal Sanctuary.
These poachers were involved in the illegal wildlife trade and were operating in the Baripada Forest Range and Udala Police jurisdiction.
The accused identified as Ajambar Naik (alias Fatu), Pitambar Naik (alias Daktar), Ram Naik (alias Thalu), and Bairam Murmu (alias Dubai Baba), are from the Tental village area.
They were apprehended near their residence in the Patashani Pur village near Bali Ghat, Udala. Authorities have seized a tiger hide and claws from the suspects.
During the operation, the Similipal team, with assistance from the State-Level JTF, was able to track own these accused, who had been on the run for some time. These poachers are now being forwarded to court.
Further investigations are underway by the Special Enforcement Wing of the Similipal South Wildlife Division to uncover more details about their illegal activities.
