Bhubaneswar, April 14: Hanuman Jayanti celebrations were held peacefully across Odisha's Eastern Range, including key locations in the Balasore, Bhadrak, and Mayurbhanj districts, said Dr. Satyajit Naik, DIG of the Eastern Range.
Thousands of devotees, including members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajaranga Dal, BJP, and other Hindu community organizations, actively participated in the festivities.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the celebrations, 10 platoons of police forces were deployed in Balasore and 7 platoons in Bhadrak.
The 7-kilometer-long Padayatra commenced from Gargadeswar Temple to Hatiagand village chhak in Remuna, Balasore district today.
Police personnel, including inspectors and sub-inspectors, escorted the Padayatra, with additional forces stationed at strategic locations. Surveillance teams were posted on rooftops while mobile patrolling units monitored the procession to prevent any untoward incidents.
At the Remuna Police Station area, a Striking Force comprising one platoon of OSAP and an Executive Magistrate was also deployed.
Traffic in the area was regulated and diverted to facilitate the unhindered movement of the Padayatra.
