Bhubaneswar, March 17: Odisha is now grappling with an intense heatwave, as five cities across the state recorded temperatures surpassing 40°C on Monday. Boudh emerged as the hottest city, reaching a sweltering 43.5°C.
Weather expert Umashankar Das stated on his social media platform X. According to Das, Boudh recorded the highest temperature at 43.5°C, followed closely by Bargarh at 42°C, Angul at 40.7°C, Titilagarh at 40.5°C, and Malkangiri at 40.2°C.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar experienced a relatively lower temperature of 36.7°C, while Cuttack reported 37°C.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning urging residents to take precautionary measures against the heat. These include staying hydrated, limiting outdoor activities during peak hours, and seeking shade when needed.
