Bhubaneswar: Odisha is set to make a strong impact at the Khelo India Para Games 2025, scheduled to be held from March 20 to 27 in New Delhi. A 24-member contingent from Odisha will compete across six disciplines: Para Archery, Para Athletics, Para Badminton, Para Powerlifting, Para Shooting, and Para Table Tennis.
A send-off event was organized today, attended by Dipankar Mohapatra, Director of Sports, Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, and Sunil Pradhan, Secretary, Para Sports Association of Odisha (PSAO). They extended their best wishes to the athletes, emphasizing the state’s commitment to para-sports and ensuring that para-athletes receive the support they need to excel on national and international platforms.
The Khelo India Para Games 2025 will witness participation from approximately 1,200 athletes representing 36 States and Union Territories. Competitions will take place at three premier venues in Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Indira Gandhi Stadium, and Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.
Odisha’s para-athletes have consistently delivered remarkable performances at national and international levels, and this event presents yet another opportunity to showcase their talent, determination, and sporting excellence. The state government, along with PSAO, remains committed to fostering an inclusive sporting environment and providing top-tier facilities and training to para-athletes.
The Odisha team will depart on Tuesday for New Delhi, carrying the hopes and aspirations of the state. The entire sports fraternity and supporters eagerly await their stellar performances at the Games.
