The Indian Navy has officially announced the recruitment for male candidates for enrolment as Sailors in the Senior Secondary Recruits (Medical) branch under the 02/2025 and 02/2026 batches. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online via the official website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. The last date to apply is April 10, 2025, and the correction window will be open from April 14 to April 16, 2025.
Educational qualification:
Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) from a recognized board under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
A minimum of 50% aggregate marks and at least 40% marks in each subject are required.
Candidates who are currently appearing in the Class 12 board exams (2024–2025) can also apply, provided they meet the eligibility requirements and can produce the original mark sheet at later stages. Internet copies of mark sheets will not be accepted.
Age Limit:
For SSR (Medical) 02/2025 batch: Born between 1st September 2004 and 29th February 2008.
For SSR (Medical) 02/2026 batch: Born between 1st July 2005 and 31st December 2008.
Selection Process:
The recruitment process for Sailors in the Senior Secondary Recruits (Medical) branch will consist of two stages:
Stage I: Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET)
Exam Date: May 2025
The INET will be a computer-based test containing 100 objective-type questions worth 1 mark each. The paper will include sections on English, Science, Biology, and General Awareness, all based on the 10+2 syllabus.
Duration: 1 hour
Candidates must pass each section and the overall exam. A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Stage II: Recruitment Process (Post-INET)
Based on the INET results, candidates will be shortlisted for Stage II, which will include further selection steps and documentation verification. The stages are as follows:

- Induction at Chilka: September 2025
- For SSR (Medical) 02/2026 batch:
- Call-up Letters: March 2026

INET Examination Details
The INET will test candidates on four subjects:
- English
- Science
- Biology
- General Awareness
Each section will have multiple-choice questions based on the 10+2 syllabus. Candidates must qualify in all sections individually, as well as in aggregate. The Indian Navy reserves the right to set the minimum qualifying marks. Please note that incorrect answers will incur a penalty of 0.25 marks.

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable examination fee of Rs 550 plus 18% GST. Payments can be made through:
