Bhubaneswar, Jan 11: Jagannath Express Bus Services to Puri will be launched ahead of the inaugural ceremony of the Jagannath Temple Heritage Project.

Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Advisor to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, informed media during his visit to the pilgrim town on Thursday.
Mahapatra said, in view of a good influx of devotees to the Puri shrine after inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama project, the Odisha government is planning to launch Jagannath Express bus services under its Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative (LAccMI). Accordingly express buses will be connecting other districts to Puri via Bhubaneswar, from January January 16.
“About 60 buses would be initially deployed to Puri to ensure smooth transportation of devotees from far-off places to Puri. Later, a total of 122 Jagannath Express buses are likely to join the row to ferry devotees from all the 29 districts.

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik is likely to flag off the new bus service from Malatipatpur bus stand in Puri.
